A healthy body supports a healthy mind, which in turn fosters better relationships. In this post, I will share some practical exercises I do to keep fit.

  • Hydration: Ensuring adequate water intake to support overall health and bodily functions.
  • Rest and Recovery: Establishing a regular sleep schedule allows the body to recover and rejuvenate.
  • Mindfulness Practices: Engaging in meditation or deep breathing exercises to enhance mental wellness.

Being a mother of three can feel like a juggling act, especially while managing a full-time job. I’ve discovered that even the smallest moments of connection with myself can bring immense joy. Moments of connection with my family are also incredibly joyful. These connections create balance in my busy life.

Here are some practical ways that have inspired me:

  • Start your mornings with a few stretches. This simple act helps sustain your physical wellness and sets a positive tone for the day ahead. As we age, taking care of our bodies becomes even more vital.
  • If you have the chance, skip rope! It’s a fun and energizing full-body workout that can fit into even the tightest schedule.
  • Eat a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. This ensures your body receives the essential nutrients it needs. These nutrients are vital for optimal health and energy.

It’s important to remember that physical activities are beneficial because they help us burn calories. I know this from personal experience. There was a time in my life when I felt very sluggish at the beginning of each day. I had gained quite a bit of weight, which weighed me down. Some of you may be able to relate to this feeling. Sometimes, I would look in the mirror and struggle to believe the reflection was me. I knew I had to take action.

As I focused on burning calories, I also considered the fundamentals of nutrition, since they go hand in hand. I began incorporating healthy fats from plant sources to help improve my cholesterol levels. While I’m not an expert in this area, I’d like to share one of the recipes that I used for breakfast, which I named Powerful Oat Bars (recipe to be shared soon).
